The forecasts we hear on the radio and TV come from the GFS model, and the meteorologists don’t think much for themselves any more, it seems to me. That is why I subscribe to WeatherBELL (which costs me about fifty cents a day.) Joe Bastardi and Joseph D’Aleo are the old-school type of forecaster, who is not controled by a computer.
There has been murmuring about a storm this Friday, but the GFS didn’t show it even when the European, Canadian and other computer models started to show it. So people blithely went about their business, even as I got a bit hurried and started stacking wood. Now the GFS abruptly shows a storm on Friday. It is neat how everyone’s expressions change.
I’ll like be too busy to blog much, for a while.
